Former Barcelona and Newcastle striker Patrick Kluivert has backed Liverpool to win the Premier League title.
This comes after their impressive 2-0 victory over Champions League-chasing Chelsea.
The goals came in two consecutive second-half minutes, firstly from Sadio Mane before a superb Mo Salah strike put his side two ahead.
Earlier in the day, Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 to heap the pressure on their title rivals but Liverpool responded brilliantly to return to the top of the table.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are now two points clear, City still have a game in hand which is against their local rivals Manchester United later this month.
Kluivert was clearly impressed by the manner of Liverpool’s victory yesterday as after the game he tweeted:
Twitter: I see @LFC becoming this years Champions @premierleague (@PatrickKluivert)
The race for the Premier League title looks to be going right down to the wire, with Liverpool and City not showing any signs that they are going to ease up.
This was a huge win for Liverpool given their favourable run-in for the rest of the season. Games against Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle are to come before their final match of the season at home to Wolves.
City have a much tougher run-in with games against Tottenham and United before they face Burnley, Leicester and Brighton.
Their game in hand away at Old Trafford may well be the game that decides who wins the title.
Liverpool and City have been great to watch this year and both have been absolutely relentless. This will likely continue right until the last game on 12 May.
