Gomez hails brilliance of Liverpool’s front three
Joe Gomez has hailed the brilliance of Liverpool’s attacking trio after they impressed in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all scored as the Reds beat Porto 4-1, taking the club through to the semi-final on a 6-1 aggregate score.
Gomez made his return to action in the quarter-final tie, having missed the past four months with a broken leg, and England international explained how impressed he was by the attacking three.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Gomez said:
Obviously Mo gets a lot of plaudits but Bobby and Sadio are just as threatening.
That sums it up. It’s incredible for Sadio to match someone like Ian Rush who is a legend of the club. Sadio is on fire this year and long may it continue.
We were very clinical and that’s credit to the whole team. Goals are coming from different people all over the pitch.
