Juventus have reportedly tabled a contract offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has been a long-term target for Liverpool.
The Mirror report that the Italian giants have made the Frenchman a £5.3m-a-year offer, which could rise to £7m depending on performance-based bonuses.
The 24-year-old is expected to leave the French giants when his contract expires in the summer and Liverpool have been monitoring the midfielder over the past six months.
Rabiot is also a target for Premier League rivals Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea, however, no English side have made the player an offer to date.
The box-to-box midfielder has been with PSG for 15 and has made over 150 Ligue 1 appearances for the club.
If Rabiot accepts the deal on the table from Juventus, then the Italian giants would have secured two midfielders on free transfers this summer, with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey also making the move to Turin at the end of the season.
Four more midfielders Liverpool could target this summer
Attacking midfielder Aouar has excelled for Lyon this season and is regarded as a future star.
Former Liverpool player Stan Collymore has recently urged the Reds to sign Wolves midfielder Neves this summer, and the Portuguese international may fit right in at Anfield.
Real Madrid playmaker Asensio has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent months, with boss Jurgen Klopp thought to be a real admirer of the Spaniard.
Another Madrid star, Isco could also be a realistic option for Liverpool this summer to bolster their attacking midfield options.
