Karius confirms he is set to remain at Besiktas
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has insisted that he will remain at Besiktas on loan next season.
The German signed for Besiktas last summer on a two-year loan, but with the first half of the contract drawing to a close, there were doubts whether he would see out his deal.
Karius has received criticism in Turkey this season for his form, with the German’s struggles showing no sign of easing up.
But the 25-year-old now looks set to remain on loan next season, as his form has improved in recent weeks, which has seen Besiktas have a change of heart about the goalkeeper.
As reported by Turkish outlet Fotomac, Karius appeared to confirm he will stay at Besiktas after their 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor on Saturday.
This is a team game. I must not forget this, I am disappointed. Maybe we could have got a point. We have another game and a game to win. Then we will continue our preparations. I think that if all parties are happy and satisfied, I will continue. My contract with Besiktas continues.
Karius was Liverpool’s number one for a while before a run of awful form and mistakes ousted him from the team.
Allison was signed in a big-money purchase last summer and he has impressed in his debut season.
The Brazilian has been a key part of Liverpool’s great season and he will hope to help them to their sixth Champions League trophy when they face Tottenham on 1 June.
