Klopp will only get better, says Klinsmann

Jurgen Klopp’s hunger to improve means he will only get better as Liverpool manager, according to ex-Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann.

Klopp enjoyed the most significant night of his career last Saturday, as he guided the Reds to Champions League glory.

The 2-0 win over Tottenham in Madrid saw the 51-year-old earn his maiden piece of silverware at Anfield, on a glorious night for the club.

It has been a wonderful three and a half years at Liverpool for Klopp, who has turned the Reds from top four hopefuls into one of the best two teams in Europe.

Speaking to the Mirror, Klinsmann believes this is still only the start in terms of his compatriot’s success on Merseyside, such is his personality:

He’s a workaholic because that’s in our blood where we come from. He’s sponge, that always wants to learn and always wants to look at what is next…and it never gets saturated.

One thing is for sure he will never, ever rest. Winning the Champions League Final now, the first thought of him a day later will be, ‘how do I win this next year?’

So he will never be satisfied…he doesn’t stop. It’s just in his nature that he always wants to keep going and going and going. He will be working on it now, how he can move the pieces to make it even better.

A Champions League triumph was huge for so many reasons, but it was arguably most important for Klopp.

Having been accused of a lack of trophies and losing in finals, he got over the finish line and silenced any remaining doubters.

He has transformed Liverpool as a club and the sky is the limit with him at the helm.
