Robertson won’t want to leave Liverpool, claims Dalglish

There is no reason why Andy Robertson would want to leave Liverpool currently, according to Reds legend Sir Kenny Dalglish.

The left-back has enjoyed a magnificent season at Anfield, culminating in Champions League glory and 13 assists in all competitions.

Along with fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Robertson has become one of the Premier League’s most influential performers.

Such has been his meteoric rise, from unspectacular signing to one of the world’s best left-backs, the Scotland captain has been loosely linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.

Writing in his column for the Sunday Post, Dalglish doesn’t believe Robertson will even be considering leaving Liverpool, though:

Andy Robertson must wake up every morning and think its Christmas Day.

That’s why I don’t believe he’ll be considering leaving Liverpool for any other football club at home or abroad.

I’m told he has been linked with a couple of big European clubs.

But why would he want to leave Liverpool? Seriously, tell me why?

The Reds are in a wonderful position at the moment, with their players surely all desperate to stay rather than leave.

It is testament to the job Jurgen Klopp is doing, and in Robertson, he has one of the most in-form full-backs in Liverpool’s history in his ranks.

Everything about him, from his quality to his down-to-earth character, epitomises why this Reds side are so special.
