Liverpool are thought to be preparing an offer of €15m for Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz.
According to BeIN Sports Turkey’s Besiktas journalist Gurler Akgun, cited by Sports Witness, the Reds are considering a move for the 23-year-old, with Jurgen Klopp thought to be keen on the Turkey international.
Tokoz has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal, however, it appears as if the Reds will make the first move for the highly-rated midfielder with a concrete offer.
The report goes on to add that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the player for the past three months, with Klopp looking to add to his midfield ranks this summer.
Liverpool may also be keen on bringing in reinforcements in other areas but it looks as if the Reds may prioritise the signing of Tokoz first.
Tokoz is under contract until 2021, but with Besiktas under some financial problems, an offer in the region of €15m may well be enough to bring the international to Merseyside.
Four more European midfielders who may be of interest to Liverpool
Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Isco could be free to leave this summer following numerous arrivals at the Bernabeu and could be a perfect fit at Anfield.
Exciting Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Havertz recently turned 20 and has already established himself as a Bundesliga star. The attacking midfielder is tall, athletic and has a real eye for goal, something which could appeal to Jurgen Klopp.
More of an all-rounded midfielder is Juventus’ Bentancur. The 21-year-old would be a smart signing by the Reds but could be a costly one.
Lyon’s Ndombele has been briefly linked with a move to Merseyside this summer, however, Tottenham are thought to be in pole position to sign the Frenchman. The Reds could attempt to hijack a proposed move to Spurs for the 22-year-old which would bolster Jurgen Klopp’s all-round midfield options.
