Liverpool are planning to offer James Milner a new contract, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 33-year-old has been a great servant to the Reds since 2015, showcasing his experience and versatility.
Although seen as a likely squad player when he joined on a free transfer from Manchester City four years ago, he has been a prominent figure, particularly under Jurgen Klopp.
While Milner may not be a fixture in the first team moving forward, Liverpool still see him as an invaluable man to have around.
They are reportedly “keen to reward the midfielder with an extension”, with his current deal expiring next summer.
Milner has already put down a mark in pre-season, winning an early fitness test to prove that he is still more than a match for his teammates.
The winning mentality he possesses is priceless, and while he may be turning 34 in January, he has more left in the tank than many players his age.
