Liverpool cruised into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, winning 2-0 away to MK Dons.
James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever may have scored the goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but much of the post-match talk surrounded Harvey Elliott.
The 16-year-old made his Reds debut, becoming the youngster-ever starter in the club’s history.
He shone throughout at Stadium MK, hitting the crossbar twice and oozing quality on the right-hand side.
These Liverpool supporters lauded Elliott’s promising showing on Twitter.

Harvey Elliott is something special. So much confidence for a 16 year old to be heavily involved with our attacks. Taking on players, eye for the pass, what a player.

No goal for Harvey Elliott tonight but wow, what a debut. You should always temper expectations around young players, particularly when they're only 16, but how can you not be excited by that performance? He looks a special, special talent.

It’s always easy to go overboard about a young player at Liverpool, with fans desperate to see them progress.
Elliott really does look a special talent, however, and it’s easy to see why so many top clubs wanted him in the summer.
The ultimate praise that the teenager can receive is that there are shades of Lionel Messi about his style, whether it be his diminutive frame, beautiful left foot or dribbling ability.
No pressure, Harvey!
