Kai Havertz is one of the most talked-about young players in Europe, with some seeing him as the perfect signing for Liverpool in the near future.

The 20-year-old German midfielder is prodigiously gifted, with some of Europe’s top clubs monitoring his progress.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz has provided an encouraging update on the situation, telling Sport Bild that the final decision on Havertz’s future is ultimately with the player:

If Liverpool did manage to get a deal over the line for Havertz, it would feel like a significant piece of business.

Arguably one of the outstanding midfielders of his generation, the youngster would bring so much quality and long-term potential to Jurgen Klopp’s team, as well as the guile that can sometimes be lacking in that area.

The likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich have also been tipped to sign him, so it won’t easy if Liverpool’s interest does prove to be genuine.

Leaving Leverkusen next summer makes sense for Havertz – by then, he will have reached a stage where he needs a fresh challenge in a better side.
