Liverpool take “another step forward” with Anfield extension plans

Liverpool’s plans to take the capacity of Anfield to over 60,000 are set to take “another step forward”, according to Goal‘s Neil Jones.

The Reds are riding on the crest of a wave at the moment, both on and off the pitch.

Jurgen Klopp is masterminding a wonderful period in the club’s history, while the club is being run smoothy behind the scenes, too.

The Main Stand was redeveloped back in 2016 and there are plans to do the same to the Anfield Road end.

Jones reports that further progress will be made this week, saying “more than 5,000 leaflets have been distributed by the club inviting local residents and business to a series of public consultation events, where the Reds will share their plans for an ambitious proposed redevelopment of the Anfield Road Stand.”

The demand for tickets is higher than ever at Liverpool, especially since winning the Champions League back in June.

With fans visiting Anfield from all around the world, a bigger stadium is required, with the Reds’ ground currently smaller than many of their rivals.

FSG have been keen to expand Anfield in the past and it now feels like genuine progress is being made.

It should take Liverpool up another level, as they threaten to be the most admired club in the world.
