Duncan’s agent banned and fined by the FA
Saif Rubie, the agent of former Liverpool striker Bobby Duncan, has been banned and fined by the FA, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Duncan joined Fiorentina from the Reds during the summer, with the striker receiving criticism for the manner in which he handled the move.
Rubie was seen as an instigator in that respect and he became an unpopular figure, criticising the club and Michael Edwards.
His reputation has now been damaged further and he has been banned from acting as an intermediary for six weeks, also being fined £10,000.
That’s due to “improper use of social media”, after a number of Tweets launched into Liverpool at a time when he was trying to seal Duncan’s exit.
Rubie’s ban started on December 4th and will run until January 15th.
Duncan moved in order to earn more playing time, but he hasn’t been a fixture in Fiorentina’s side this season.
Time will tell whether or not he made the right decision to leave Liverpool, but it hasn’t exactly been an ideal start.
