Trey Nyoni seems to have made a massive impression at Liverpool under Andoni Iraola.

The Englishman has featured a handful of times this season and got his first UEFA Champions League start of his career against Villarreal earlier this month.

Nyoni burst onto the scene under Arne Slot and will look to take his game to another level this season.

And the young midfielder has been particularly impressed by Ronald Araujo, who has quickly become a cult hero at Anfield.

Araujo has made the right-back spot his own at Liverpool due to injuries to Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.

The Uruguayan has two goals to his name – both in the UEFA Champions League – and also provided an assist for Szoboszlai vs Atletico Madrid.

Nyoni feels Araujo’s work ethic and leadership have made him a valuable asset for Liverpool in double quick time.

“Yeah, I think Ronald has kind of inspired everyone to fight,” said Nyoni via Liverpool’s official website.

“Coming from where he was, he was a captain, so that in itself already shows how much of a leader he is.

“And I think even though obviously at the minute he doesn’t speak much English, on the pitch you can see that he’s willing to fight and willing to give everything.

“When you see a player like that, I think it helps everyone else understand what it means to even just play here. So, I think it is important to have someone like him who’s got a lot of experience and can help everyone else.”

If he carries on in the same vein, Liverpool won’t hesitate too much to pay what Barcelona want to make his transfer permanent.
