Liverpool made it five wins in a row under Andoni Iraola with a penalty shootout success against Chelsea at Anfield.
The Reds will now face Bournemouth in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup and prevailed against the Blues despite making a handful of changes to their starting XI.
Iraola opted to give the youngsters a chance as Trey Nyoni, Lewis Koumas, James McConnell and Rio Ngumoha were handed starts.
And the Liverpool manager singled out Nyoni for special praise for his composed display in the centre of the park.

Starting alongside Ryan Gravenberch in a deeper midfield role, Nyoni kept things ticking in the centre of the park.
The midfielder was named Man of the Match after dominating a Chelsea midfield featuring Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, capping off one of his best-ever displays for the Reds.
Iraola singled out the youngster for special praise after the game, adding that it was important for him and the others to be involved in a game like this.
“I think he has done very well. Really well. It’s good for the young players especially, to have these experiences in cup competitions, where if you lose, you’re out.
“We were losing and then drew level. They weren’t involved in the penalty shootout, but they experienced those feelings. They played under pressure against a very good team.
“And Trey finished physically in a good place, so well done to him.”
