Sadio Mane is a footballer that “every manager would like to have in their team”, according to Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Liverpool froward has been sensational since arriving from Southampton in 2016, securing legendary status at Anfield.

Mane has scored 86 goals in 181 appearances for the Reds, maturing into one of the best wide players in the world.

The 28-year-old is a superstar back in Senegal, and in the whole of Africa for that matter, and Aubameyang is clearly a huge admirer.

Speaking to Stades and relayed by wiwsport [via The Boot Room], the Arsenal striker lauded the brilliance of Mane:

Sadio is the player of the Africans. He’s also the type of player every manager would like to have in their team. Like all African players in the Premier League, we tease each other, joke before and after each game.

I have a lot of respect for him, because after what you see on social media and the news, he’s someone who’s done a lot for his native village.

It is great to see Mane being recognised for his magic, having become such a formidable talent over the years.

I wouldn’t swap him for any other left-sided player in the world currently, including Neymar, given his consistency, level of fight and all-round influence at Liverpool.

In last season’s Premier League title triumph, he was so often the man who dragged the Reds through matches, including when he scored a last-gasp winner away to Aston Villa.

Mane is a manager’s dream, so it is no surprise to see Aubameyang utter such complimentary words.
