Jordan Henderson could be available for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Reds visit the Seagulls on Saturday afternoon, with a win or a draw taking them to the top of the table.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Klopp said that Henderson has trained, with a decision set to be made nearer kickoff:

Hendo trained, parts of team training. We have to see. The other players are still in recovery. We have to make late decisions.

There is no denying what a huge boost Henderson’s potential return is, with the skipper not featuring since before the international break.

The 30-year-old brings so much drive and quality to Liverpool’s team and they often look a very different proposition when he is in the starting lineup.

Henderson demands the best from those around him, and with a response needed after losing to Atalanta in midweek, his influence should ensure the same doesn’t happen again.

It remains to be seen if he will start, or feature at all, but Klopp’s words certainly sound positive.
