Both Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo returned to Liverpool prematurely during the international break.
While Isak’s injury was described as a small problem by Graham Potter, Gakpo took a blow to his leg during the game against Serbia and hasn’t featured since.
Earlier this week, Andoni Iraola confirmed that both players were injured and will face a race against time to be fit for the game vs Manchester City.
And now, eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have spotted the pair at the AXA Training Centre, which is a sign that they aren’t too far away from being fully fit.
Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo not ruled out for Liverpool
Earlier today, the Liverpool Echo confirmed that both players were absent from training, although Jeremy Jacquet trained despite his injury scare.
And now, in Liverpool’s official Inside Anfield footage, Isak and Gakpo were spotted with the rest of their teammates, as seen below.
This doesn’t mean they will feature in the matchday squad, but at least their injuries aren’t as serious as what we initially feared.
Andoni Iraola will speak to the media tomorrow and will address a wide range of topics.
And you can be sure he qill be quizzed on Gakpo and Isak as both players have been in fine form for the Spaniard this season.
