Liverpool seem to be clicking into gear under Andoni Iraola as they aim to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League against Manchester City.
The Reds have played well more often than not in the competition and are coming on the back of a 1-0 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
While most of the big guns have fared quite well this season, Rio Ngumoha has made massive strides at Anfield and has already featured for England.
And now, if reports from England are to be believed, the Reds are keen to tie him down at the club for the long haul.
Liverpool want to renew Rio Ngumoha’s contract
Football Insider report that Liverpool are confident they will agree a new deal with the 18-year-old, whose current contract expires in 2028.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Sources say that Ngumoha’s camp are keen to strike a deal that reflects his rapid rise and newfound status within Andoni Iraola’s squad.
“Liverpool are also hopeful that they can reach a long-term agreement with Ngumoha and extend his stay at Anfield well beyond the current 2028 arrangement.”
The Englishman wants to stay and Liverpool are willing to offer him improved terms to reflect his growth, so this is a deal that should be done before the end of the season.
