A number of Liverpool supporters are fuming with Takumi Minamino’s performance in the Reds’ 1-1 draw away to Brighton.
The Japanese was handed a rare opportunity to shine by Jurgen Klopp, as the manager made changes at the Amex Stadium.
With Sadio Mane rested, Minamino came into the team, taking up a midfield role in a 4-3-3 formation.
He was poor throughout, however, failing to have any kind of impact on the game, apart from one long-range effort.
As the minutes ticked by, it became increasingly hard to realise he was even on the pitch.
Minamino has been a disappointing signing for Liverpool so far, failing to make the impact some expected, having produced an exceptional performance for Salzburg at Anfield last season.
On a day when numerous Reds players struggled to find their best form, Minamino was arguably the poorest performer.
These Liverpool fans have been providing their thoughts on his display on Twitter.
What is Minamino’s position? Is he a midfielder, winger, striker??? Guy has been here for almost a year and we still don’t know

Taking Salah off and keeping Minamino on?? There’s no defending that

Issue with Minamino is he plays a different role every time he’s on the pitch. One game he’s in Bobby’s role, the next he’s playing like in a 10 role and the next he’s in a midfield 3. All while playing with different players around him each time.

Based on the limited number of appearances and where we’ve seen him feature when he has appeared, I don’t think we had any intention of playing Minamino in his preferred position. Unfortunately, he isn’t a midfielder and looks out of place.

Minamino didn’t help my agenda today
