Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips believes Divock Origi could leave Liverpool for Leeds United in the fear future – something James Milner has been tipped to do in the past.
The 24-year-old finds himself out of favour at Anfield currently, making just one appearance in the Premier League this season.
It looks increasingly likely that Origi’s future lies away from Liverpool, especially with the likes of Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino sending him further down the pecking order.
Speaking to Football Insider, Phillips tipped the Belgian to join the Marcelo Bielsa revolution at Leeds, either in January or next summer:
I would imagine Origi will leave in January but if not it will definitely be the summer.
Coming off the back of what the club did last year he would want to be a part of it again so I am not surprised that he didn’t leave this summer.
But it has been a tough year for him so far. He has not been used so much and when he has got his opportunities he looks rusty. He has not played enough football.
A fresh challenge for him would be best and I am sure there will be a queue of clubs looking to sign him if he is made available.
We have seen what he can do. He just needs to play football.
I would not be surprised if he moves on in January and Leeds is definitely a potential destination.

Origi will always be loved by Liverpool supporters because of his past exploits, scoring legendary Champions League goals against Barcelona and Tottenham in 2018/19, not to mention the last-gasp winner at home to Everton.
The striker has looked more and more out of his depth in recent times, however, with his performance against Atalanta on Wednesday night simply not good enough, earning a four-out-of-10 rating from This Is Anfield.
The time has come for Liverpool to move Origi on, although a summer exit looks more likely.
He can offer plenty to someone like Leeds, but he is not at the level required for one of the best teams in Europe.
