Liverpool youngster Paul Glatzel admits he is “devastated” by his latest injury, with the striker set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 19-year-old damaged ankle ligaments in Liverpool U23s’ 0-0 draw with Southampton U23s last month, in another blow for him.
Glatzel has already missed a huge chunk of action after suffering cruciate ligament damage to his knee in July 2019, halting his progress after playing a starring role in the Reds U18s’ FA Youth Cup triumph in 2018/19.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the Liverpool academy star posted about the injury, admitting that he is “devastated” over yet another serious injury setback:

It is devastating news for Glatzel, who is such a talented footballer, but will have to recover from another major setback.
After the aforementioned Youth Cup success, it looked as though he was primed to push for a place in the first team squad, but fitness woes have put paid to that for now.
The hope is that Glatzel’s absence is nowhere near as long this time around, though, with the striker making a speedy recovery and eventually reaching his potential.
Thirteen goals in 22 appearances for the U18s speaks volumes about his ability in front of goal, with two in five games for the U23s, too.
