Craig Pawson has been confirmed as the referee for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Wolves this weekend, with Jon Moss in charge of VAR.
The Reds host Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Sunday evening, in what could be a tough encounter.
Liverpool have found themselves harshly treated by refereeing and VAR decisions this season, from Jordan Henderson’s disallowed goal at Everton to the penalty Andy Robertson conceded at Brighton last weekend.
Pawson will take charge of the Wolves game, having refereed the Reds’ recent 1-1 draw away to Manchester City, when he awarded Pep Guardiola’s men a penalty after a harsh handball by Joe Gomez.

Discussing the referees in the Premier League is very much subjective, with all supporters having their favourite, and worst, officials.
Pawson hasn’t always been kind to Liverpool, that’s for sure, with one famous decision seeing him award Everton a penalty in 2017, after Dejan Lovren barely touched Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a 1-1 draw a Anfield.
Thankfully, the Reds have won five of the seven games he has officiated since then, including the 3-1 victory at home to Arsenal back in September.
The hope is that Sunday’s match passes without any controversy.
