Liverpool receive boost as AC Milan could be priced out of Ozan Kabak move

AC Milan can’t justify spending €25million on Ozan Kabak in January, acting as a potential boost for Liverpool.

That’s according to MilanNews, who claim the reported Liverpool target is out of Milan’s price range.

Kabak is seen as someone who could ease the Reds’ defensive shortage in January, with Joel Matip’s injury against West Brom making an addition even more important.

This latest update claims Liverpool are yet to show concrete interest, but Milan don’t appear to be a particularly strong rival for the 20-year-old’s signature.

Past claims have suggested Schalke star Kabak could be available for as little as €15million, but that remains to be seen.

As much as Jurgen Klopp likes to show faith in youngsters, not signing a new centre-back next month would be bordering on negligent.

Matip’s injury leaves Fabinho as the only available established central defender – even he is playing in the role out of necessity.

A move for Kabak makes sense, given his potential and the relatively low fee he would cost, so it will be interesting to see if Liverpool submit a bid for the Turkey international.

Schalke are bottom of the Bundesliga and without a win all season, so he may be desperate for a way out, especially as he has only featured eight times in the league to date.
