Jurgen Klopp doesn’t believe the Premier League season needs to be halted, as the country continues to tackle the virus currently affecting the world.
Last season was halted between March and June due to the pandemic, with the campaign eventually ending in July.
That meant the 2020/21 season started later than normal, and with no space to fit in more fixtures, the idea of it stopping once more is a grim one.
It currently looks as though there are no plans for that to happen, with the Premier League continuing to go ahead while other walks of life are halted.
Speaking to reporters [via This Is Anfield], Klopp provided his thoughts on the matter:
I think really we can carry on.
I’m not a specialist, we all know that. We all try to do our best to keep the competition going, and I think it works well.

The league has shown that it can still go on despite everything happening in the world, even though a few matches have been postponed this week.
The players are working in healthy environments and there is no reason why football needs to stop, for the time being at least.
Only a big u-turn from the government would likely see that happen, or a huge rise in cases – something everyone will be hoping doesn’t happen.
Should the season be suspended, it is so hard to see how it could be finished properly, given the lack of time available to fit in the fixtures.
