Some Liverpool fans breathe a sigh of relief after Dayot Upamecano performance

Many Liverpool fans may have been left breathing a sigh of relief last night after recently-confirmed Bayern Munich signing Dayot Upamecano had a night to forget.

The RB Leipzig centre-back was a reported target for the Reds as well as a host of other Premier League clubs. However, it was confirmed this week that the 22-year-old would move to Bayern at the end of the current campaign.

Given the hyperbole around the Frenchman, plenty of Kopites may have been initially disappointed to miss out. That was until last night as the defender lost possession on 23 occasions and put in an all-round error-strewn display as Sadio Mane left him chasing shadows.

A host of Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to a possible dodging of a bullet as regards Upamecano, who gave what one Kopite called an “awful” performance…

matchday.
