Liverpool preparing club-record £80m deal for 18 y/o English midfielder who is Klopp’s ‘No.1 target’

The summer transfer window saw a quiet end for Liverpool and their business ahead of this season.

Despite the signing of French centre-back Ibrahima Konaté at the start of the window, that was their only addition.

Throughout the window the club found themselves linked to a number of midfield targets.

This was mainly down to a reported replacement for the outgoing Georginio Wijnaldum who joined PSG.

The likes of Renato Sanches, Florian Neuhaus, Saúl Ñíguez, and Youri Tielemans were all rumoured.

However, it now looks as though the Reds have identified their midfield target for next summer in a club-record deal.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool wants to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham next summer…

As cited by Anfield Watch above, the deal could see the Reds break their transfer record with an £80million deal.

Bellingham joined the Bundesliga club last summer from Birmingham City for just over £20million.

Since then he has proven to be one of the hottest prospects in football, with him even making England’s Euro 2020 squad.

According to the report, Jurgen Klopp is looking to make Bellingham his number one target for next summer.

There is no denying that the youngster is an incredible player and would be a fantastic signing for the club.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Bellingham could reach heights even greater than expected, helping to take the Reds into the next stage.

The club’s Champions League and Premier League winning squad is starting to age and a rebuild is imminent.

Bellingham would be the perfect player to start the revolution at Anfield for the coming years.
