Virals: Liverpool target Florian Wirtz billed as ‘successor’ to Sadio Mane
Liverpool have long since been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz at some point down the line and a fresh report looks to have handed the club a boost.
The Reds have once again been named alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as potential suitors for the 18-year-old.
Already capped on four occasions by Germany, Wirtz looks to have a supremely bright future at the very highest level.
According to a report from SportBild, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter, Liverpool could be the ideal destination for the teenage sensation.

The report claims that the attacking midfielder ‘would do well with Jurgen Klopp’ as a possible ‘successor to Sadio Mane’ in the future.
This season Wirtz – once hailed as ‘extremely talented’ by Rudi Völler – has scored eight times and provided 12 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £63million and under contract until 2026 (Transfermarkt), signing Wirtz would no doubt prove to be a highly expensive venture.
Billed to cost in excess of €100million (£83million), that fee for a teenager who has already amassed 70 senior outings for a major European club may still represent superb value for money.
Albeit the German starlet certainly possesses the potential and the attributes to emulate Mane, from a positional perspective Wirtz is far better suited to a central role and would be unlikely to fill those particular boots.
That said, there can be no doubting the talent and Liverpool should be at the very forefront of the queue when the time is right.
