There are suitors from leagues all over the world fighting to get the Egyptian’s signature
Mohamed Salah has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his next move ever since announcing his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of this season. With offers pouring in from leagues worldwide, Sporticos and plenty of other football live streaming and football news outlets are speculating.
However, there are several candidates for his signature which are more realistic than others.
Here are some of the more credible links coming in for Mo Salah.
The strongest links with Salah since his decision to leave Liverpool have been with Juventus. This move makes sense in many ways. Juventus are set to qualify for the Champions League, so Salah could keep playing at the highest level if he moved there.
What’s more, because of this qualification, The Old Lady will be looking for experienced players to boost their own domestic and European ambitions next season.
Also, they are managed by Luciano Spalletti, with whom Salah has previously worked at AS Roma.
Salah could follow Kevin De Bruyne to Serie A, where the intensity is lower than in the Premier League, but the level of play remains high.
Egyptian outlet Mwatan has suggested that Real Madrid are leading the race for Salah’s signature.
However, this seems unlikely given the Bernabeu side’s current roster of attacking players and their recent trend of signing younger stars in their mid-20s.
Salah, who is looking for a “strong sporting project” to join next, may not find the right fit with Real Madrid.
Many have speculated that Salah might end up in the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of other big stars who have sought a big payday. Some of the big clubs over there have been trying to tempt him away for several years now.
However, at 33, is Salah ready to make such a step down? The player himself seems to think not, stating in a conversation with Steven Gerrard that he still has years left to play.
While a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards this summer, it might be best to delay this option for the time being.
A move to the US would also be a step down in terms of level and intensity for Salah. While there would be no shortage of suitors in MLS, it’s unclear whether Salah would be interested in such a move at this stage of his career.
Lionel Messi’s success at Inter Miami could be a potential draw, but Salah might prefer to spend a few more seasons in a more competitive environment before considering this option, especially since his physical and technical level hasn’t dropped off to a huge degree just yet.
