Work has begun outside Anfield on the permanent Diogo Jota and Andre Silva memorial, with the installation taking shape on 97 Avenue ahead of the anniversary of the brothers’ deaths.
The memorial, titled Forever 20, is being put in place at the site where Liverpool supporters left flowers, scarves, cards and other tributes after Jota and his brother Andre Silva died in a car crash in Spain on July 3, 2025.
The latest update, reported by This Is Anfield, says the first foundation slabs are now in place, with cosmetic work also being carried out around the grass verge outside the stadium.

Liverpool previously confirmed the memorial would be centred on a flowing heart sculpture inspired by Jota’s trademark celebration, while also revealing the numbers 20 and 30 from the brothers’ shirts when viewed from different angles.
The design is due to sit on a Granby Rock-faced stone plinth, with a dedication to both brothers and recycled elements from the physical tributes left by fans incorporated into the structure.
For Liverpool supporters, the significance is clear: the memorial is not only a tribute to Jota’s career at Anfield, but a permanent place of reflection for the bond between Diogo, Andre and the fanbase. Its location on the matchday approach ensures remembrance remains part of the stadium’s daily life.
