Saturday saw Liverpool return to winning ways with a strong 2-1 victory over a resilient Aston Villa side at Anfield.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold made sure that the Reds put an end to their six game losing streak at Anfield.

The win took Jurgen Klopp’s side up to sixth in the Premier League table, just three points off of a spot in the top four.

However, after the game Liverpool forward Diogo Jota made a quick joke about the part he played in Trent’s winning goal on Instagram, that got plenty of people talking…

Diogo Jota makes assist claim on Instagram story

It appears as though Jota may have had a bigger part in the match winner than first thought, with him clearly making contact with the ball.

Despite Jota clearly just having a laugh about the situation, it appears as though users of Fantasy Premier League are trying to make a case for the incident…

After the game, Jota was not credited with an assist for Trent’s goal on the FPL app, which cost owners of him in their squad a further three points.

It is understandable that owners of Jota would be frustrated but for the player himself, it appears to be just a bit of fun and games.

Trent’s showed a real grit in his character after a tough few weeks of criticism when finding himself left out of the England squad.

Liverpool now face the test of their second leg in the Champions League quarter-finals, with a visit from Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
