Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has given his opinion on the highly publicised ‘celebration’ by the Reds’ players after the 2-2 draw with West Brom at the weekend.
In truth, the display was not a celebration, but more of a show of appreciation to the fans, and Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football said just that.
It was not a celebration as such. It was to say thank you for helping to inspire the team. It’s something you see in Germany.

The former England international also spoke about why Jurgen Klopp might have felt the need to have to give the Kop a bit of a jolt and said that the atmosphere around Anfield for the last year-and-a-half:
It was part thank you and also a bit of a message to Liverpool fans to get off their backsides and support the team. The atmosphere has not been great for 18 months, mainly because performances have not been that good.
Liverpool only managed to come away with a point from the game thanks to Divock Origi’s deflected shot found the back of the net late into injury time.
The Reds took the lead thanks to captain Jordan Henderson but two crosses into the box led to two goals for the visitors, who thought they’d take all three points until Origi’s intervention.
