Four Findings: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool

In the first match after one of the most dramatic of wins ever at Anfield, Liverpool headed to Bournemouth for league action with a new-look youthful side. Jurgen Klopp made ten changes to beat the Cherries, who have yet to beat the Reds in their history, 2-1.

Without question, priorities are being set with a busy period ahead, including the Merseyside derby and the Europa League semi-final either side of a league fixture against Newcastle at the weekend. The Europa League remains Liverpool’s best chance to claw back into the Champions League coffers.

Even with so many youngsters on the pitch, Liverpool remained far and away the better side. The Reds took the game to Bournemouth from the start and dominated proceedings for the first 30 minutes, despite some mild errors and sloppiness. However, it took a bit more graft to breakthrough before half-time.

Daniel Sturridge rose above the crowd and showed his class, making the case that his comeback continues to gather apace. As his sharpness is beginning to return, so is his confidence. He was involved in both goals and could have had more in a performance that reminded everyone of the ability he possesses.

Despite the return of injury woes, Liverpool are putting togetehr their best run of form this season.

Here are four findings from the match.
