With a guaranteed place in the knockout stage of the Europa League awaiting Liverpool upon victory, Jurgen Klopp selected a strong side to face Bordeaux at Anfield, and was rewarded with a 2-1 victory.
In a strange affair that saw referee Alon Yefet prove far more a factor than expected, the Reds accomplished a couple of key objectives. Not only did the Merseysiders earn a much-needed home win, something new boss Klopp has emphasised, they came from behind to do it.
