Four Findings: Liverpool 4-3 RB Salzburg

Beginning proceedings with the knowledge that Napoli were held to a goalless draw away to Genk earlier in the day, Liverpool picked up a vital Champions League win.

In another Anfield night to remember, Liverpool held off Salzburg in a thrilling encounter, winning 4-3 eventually.

This was a wide open and wild contest, with the Reds tearing into the visitors, scoring three goals in a little less than half an hour, thanks to Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.

Salzburg clawed their way back into the game either side of the break, however, as the match proved breathtaking.

Substitute Erling Haaland made it 3-3 to send the travelling fans wild, but Liverpool recovered and Salah scored in the 69th minute to secure his side’s first three points of the group stage.

It also marked Jurgen Klopp’s 20th European victory at Anfield without a loss, although this was one of the Reds’ least convincing nights for a chunk of the second half.
