Four Findings: Season So Far

As the hangover from the most recent international break is about to fade, Liverpool return to league action atop the table.

Just shy of a third of the way through the season, the Reds deserve to be in first place.

As Jurgen Klopp settles in for his first full season in charge, his belief in the squad he inherited and shrewd additions are proving to be remarkably insightful. All his talk of needing a true preseason with the players appears increasingly accurate. It all has the manager looking a bit like a mastermind.

It may only be November but all the signs suggest that Liverpool will remain in the title hunt for some time. Hopes are rightfully high with the Reds having already played many of the sides that will be their rivals for a title run, most of whom they’ve played away from Anfield as well.

Since the season’s start, Liverpool have not just beaten their opponents but often summarily swept them aside. The Reds are without question the most exciting and lethal side in the country, not even the more monied clubs can compete with their attacking audacity.

From now until the New Year, Liverpool have a run of winnable fixtures that could see them pull well clear from the pack before again seeing most of the big teams at home. Given that the team has already racked up 40 goals in all competitions, the most in same timeframe for over 120 years, the Reds ride into the league restart firing with the league’s most potent scoring threat.
