The 19-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Sky Blues in League One this season, and during the last international break he was recalled to Melwood so that Klopp could get a closer look at him.
He seemingly impressed the manager enough to be considered in his plans, and the squad is short of attacking options after Divock Origi was ruled out until mid-January with injury.
Kent was a mainstay in Liverpool’s Under-21s side last season and caught the eye of former first-team manager Brendan Rodgers, who rewarded him with a place on the Reds’ pre-season tour of Asia and Australia.
The England Under-20 international is yet to make a competitive appearance for Liverpool’s senior team, but that could change over the next few weeks.
