Liverpool fans react as Silva is charged with breach of FA rules

Bernardo Silva has been charged with an “aggravated breach” of FA rules, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

The Manchester City forward tweeted a photo comparing teammate Benjamin Mendy with a cartoon character, leading to racist allegations.

Both Silva and Pep Guardiola attempted to play down the issue, but the FA have acted swiftly.

These Liverpool supporters have reacted to the news on Twitter, seeing it as a possible boost to the Reds’ Premier League title hopes.

This is clearly a sensitive topic, but regardless of the potential innocence of Silva’s tweet, there are still racist connotations to it.

The 25-year-old has made a mistake and he could now face a six-match ban, ruling him out of City’s visit of Liverpool on Sunday, November 10th.

The Reds could benefit hugely if Silva is absent for an extended, period given his impact at the Etihad.

With Aymeric Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane all injured, their squad could be tested in the coming weeks.
