Divock Origi will take no further part in Liverpool’s season, and it is touch and go as to whether he will make the Euros, reports the Echo.
The Belgian striker fell victim to a horrific Ramiro Funes Mori challenge during the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night, and a scan has confirmed that he has suffered ligament damage.
The precise length of his absence is yet to be determined, but that will become clear after another scan on Friday.
Origi has been in scintillating form of late, netting five in his last five outings, taking his tally for the campaign to 10.

The 21-year-old had usurped Daniel Sturridge as the Reds’ number one centre-forward, getting the nod over him in both the first and second leg of the Europa League quarter-final with Borussia Dortmund.
Sturridge, who consoled Origi as he was stretchered off against Everton, is set to profit from his team mate’s absence, and will surely start against Villarreal next Thursday.
