Philippe Coutinho was substituted during Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Manchester City and according to Ian Doyle in the Mirror, he left the Etihad saying that he had felt some discomfort in his hamstring.
Liverpool were hopeful that the injury was not serious, and it looks like they’ve got their wish, as Paul Joyce of the Express says that the Brazilian is still in contention to play against Swansea City on Sunday.
Philippe Coutinho injury not serious. Had scan, minor hamstring strain. Not ruled out for Swansea on Sunday as yet.

Coutinho will likely sit out Liverpool’s Europa League tie against Bordeaux on Thursday evening, but Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his star man can recover in time to face Garry Monk’s side at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old has arguably been Liverpool’s best player this season, and has scored five Premier League goals already, including four in his last three games.
Coutinho linked up with Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana to great effect against Man City, and it would be a shame for Coutinho to have to miss out at the weekend.
