Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is lining up a move to bring his compatriot Jonas Hector to Anfield, according to the Mirror’s David Maddock.
The 25-year-old Germany international has been a regular for Cologne all season, including a five-game spell in February where he played as a defensive midfielder.
It appears that Klopp has been impressed and wants to make a move to take him to Anfield.
According to the report, the Bundesliga side are willing to sell Hector for around £12m, which is around what Liverpool paid for their current first choice left-back Alberto Moreno in 2014.
Maddock says that although the touted price is more than the Reds think he’s worth, they could well decide to pay up before he plays at the Euros as a good tournament could see his price-tag increase even further.
It is unclear whether Klopp will be bringing Hector in as a replacement for Moreno or simply as competition for the Spaniard.
