Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their quest to sign Jadon Sancho or Kylian Mbappe this summer.
The pair have both been linked with the Reds throughout the campaign, ahead of potential exits from Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
According to the Liverpool Echo, however, a move for either player is unlikely to happen, stating that ‘neither move is considered particularly plausible.’

The idea of Sancho or Mbappe playing for Liverpool is a mouthwatering one, but I’m not sure the Reds will justify spending such enormous sums on the pair.
Sancho could end up costing over £100 million, which would smash the club’s transfer record, while Mbappe could cost a world-record amount.
In Timo Werner, however, Liverpool have a much cheaper option this summer – someone who I believe could make his way to Anfield.
The RB Leipzig star has openly made it clear that he likes the idea of playing for Liverpool, and he could be a great addition to the squad, having scored 88 goals in 150 appearances for Leipzig.
Should he join, I don’t believe there would be a need to have Sancho or Mbappe as well, considering Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all expected to stay put.
