Liverpool have not yet submitted an offer to sign Ugurcan Cakir from Trabzonspor, according to an exclusive report from i News.
It was claimed earlier on Tuesday that the Reds had launched a firm bid worth £13 million to recruit the goalkeeper, with the Super Lig club’s president having already revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side submitted a proposal.
However, i News have dismissed these reports, and Liverpool’s interest in Cakir is not thought to have been followed up with a bid as of yet.

We reckon that Cakir is a promising player for the future, and at the age of just 23, it is entirely possible that his best years are well ahead of him.

However, just why Liverpool would spend a considerable sum on a goalkeeper at this stage is unclear, with Alisson and Adrian currently the senior options at Klopp’s disposal.
The former has been excellent since arriving at Anfield; he scooped the Golden Glove award last season and has helped his side boast the best defensive record in the Premier League so far this term.
Adrian, meanwhile, has been steady since his free transfer from West Ham in the summer, with the 33-year-old having made 14 competitive appearances already for the club.
Cakir may be a progressive option who can exceed the quality of Adrian in the future, but with Alisson firmly in place as the club’s number one, splashing the cash on another goalkeeper would appear unwise, in our opinion.
