One player Liverpool could take from each of the Champions League quarter-finalists

When looking to sign new players, clubs often have two choices. They can try to take the best players from ‘lesser’ clubs, like Liverpool have done in recent years, or you can look to sign the players that clubs who are currently better than yours no longer want, like Arsenal did when they captured Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Both strategies have merits, but with Liverpool’s excursions into the ‘lesser’ market in recent years failing to pay huge dividends, it could be time to look at the second option.

To do this, we’ve looked at the teams in the last eight of the Champions League and selected a player from each who we could realistically see moving to Liverpool.

Obviously, we’ve only selected players we think would improve Jurgen Klopp’s squad and we’ve tried to be realistic, so if you’re expecting to see Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer on the list, then sorry, you’re going to be disappointed!
