Reds linked with move for Serbian winger

Liverpool are interested in signing Stuttgart winger Filip Kostic, according to reports.

The 23-year-old joined the German club from FC Groningen for €6m back in 2014 and the Dutch side insisted upon a 15% sell-on fee at the time, which could have an impact on the price Liverpool will have to pay if they do decide to make a move for the winger.

Capped five times by his native Serbia, Kostic has been a mainstay in the Stuttgart side this year, predominantly being deployed on the left-hand side.

He managed to get his first goal of the season in the 3-1 over Wolfsburg, Stuttgart’s last match before the Bundesliga winter break.

If he does sign on with Jurgen Klopp’s side, Kostic is likely to be the second Serbian to move to Anfield in the winter, with a move for Marko Grujic seemingly sewn up.

The winger’s main attribute is his pace, which could attract Klopp as his side often looks to struggle for speed in attacking areas.
