Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is expected to miss between six and eight weeks of action after injuring his knee in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, as reported by Dominic King of the Mail.
Sakho saw a specialist on Monday and had a scan which thankfully ruled out the possibility of an ACL tear which would have ended his season.
The Frenchman will meet a consultant on Tuesday to discover the full details of the injury, but he’s likely to be out of action until the new year.

Sakho’s injury came when he landed awkwardly after competing with Yannick Bolasie for a header. He immediately looked in serious discomfort.
He tried to continue playing but in the end he had to be substituted for Dejan Lovren.
The news will come as a bitter blow to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool as the defender had become a key member of the team and was playing at a consistently high level this season.
