Liverpool proposed deal to sign Nabil Fekir is in danger of collapsing after the club hesitated following the France international’s medical, according to the Telegraph.
It was expected that the Reds would announce Fekir as their latest summer signing on Friday, with a deal having been agreed between the club and Lyon yesterday.
With personal terms also agreed, it only relied on a positive medical for the deal to be sealed, with Liverpool medical department members having spent the last two days in France with Fekir to oversee what were considered mere formalities.
However, instead of being announced today, enough of a concern was raised for the transfer to have not gone ahead as planned as of yet. Liverpool have not offered any indication as to the nature of the issue.

Fekir has a history of knee problems having sustained a serious injury while on international duty three years ago, but it is unclear at the moment if this has anything to do with the current problem.
Liverpool had hoped to complete the deal before the World Cup begins in six days time, hence the intensification of negotiations in the last few days.
The club will now ponder whether this latest hitch means the deal is merely shelved pending further discussions, as opposed to leaving the transfer dead in the water.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will be identifying alternative targets as a contingency if a breakthrough cannot be found.
