As first games of a season go, that was quite a wild one
The Premier League’s opening day had seen plenty of close affairs, with games being won by just the odd goal here and there.
Liverpool, though, well, Liverpool like to be different. Sure, in the end, they also only won by a single goal, but they did it in the most exciting way possible, winning 4-3.
At the final whistle, we asked some of the fans for their initial reaction to the win. Here’s what some of them had to say:
Alex was excited…
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC in the words of Jurgen Klopp…. BOOM! (@AlexHughes07)
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC WHAT A GAME! 2nd half team performance! (@Veer7Patel)
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC should of been 4-1 moreno an mignolet need to be benched asap (@adamakamrt)
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC good win but very worried about our defence through the season Lovren and Moreno nowhere near good enough (@Timy_86)
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC relief, LB issue really needs to be addressed. Too much space between back 4 and midfield on occasions. (@matt_tapley)
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC Very pleasing to win. But still shows the same weaknesses a s before. Poor at the back, especially set pieces. (@ToddeyD)
To end, Tom, is well, a bit understated. Playing it cool, Tom. We can respect that.
Twitter: @ReadLiverpoolFC Good 3 points (@Tommyboy_S
