Sunderland have completed the signing of Fabio Borini, having had a bid worth up to £10m accepted. Borini has been long linked with a move away from Liverpool and Sunderland was always the likeliest destination.

The 24-year-old has agreed terms and the deal has been confirmed by the club. He has signed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.
Dick Advocaat has gotten his man and Brendan Rodgers has finally offloaded a player he clearly does not see in his plans.

Borini spent 2013-14 on loan at Sunderland making 32 appearances and scoring seven goals to help secure their Premier League status that season.
He then played in just 12 league games last season for Liverpool after rejecting a permanent move to Sunderland. He scored one goal.
Borini’s departure is somewhat of a landmark as the Italian was Rodgers’ first signing when the Ulsterman took over at Anfield. Liverpool purchased him for £11m after his familiarity with Rodgers that spanned across two clubs.
Borini made 38 appearances during his time at Liverpool across all competitions, scoring three goals.
