The group stage of the Champions League is in the books and 16 teams have advanced to the knockout stages, eight clubs have dropped into the Europa League whilst the remaining eight sides will not be competing in Europe again this season.
As the Reds finished second in Group C, they will be drawn against one of the group winners. However, UEFA rules will prevent them from playing the winners of their own group; PSG, or any side from England, in this case, Manchester City.
So, ahead of the draw for the Last 16 on Monday, we’ve taken a look at the six teams who Liverpool could be drawn against:
- Barcelona
- Bayern Munich
- Borussia Dortmund
- Juventus
- Porto
- Real Madrid
It’s fair to say that there are some huge clubs who could find themselves playing at Anfield in February 2019, we’ll have to wait until Monday to see which of those six sides will be flying into Merseyside in the new year.
