Liverpool have got a wonderful centre forward in Daniel Sturridge but I get the sense that people aren’t that keen to love him and that’s a bit mad.
Does Daniel fit into a typical Jurgen Klopp team? Who knows? It looks like he might not and if you asked me should he start every game, I’d say no.
In fact, I wouldn’t play him this weekend over Roberto Firmino, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like the guy!
I found it really strange in the Spurs game that Divock Origi got 40,000 people chanting his name when he did a good turn, pass or run, yet the guy who scored twice didn’t.
There were people in the Kop trying to get the Sturridge song going, but hardly anyone joined in. Then, Danny Ings has a pretty poor shot saved by Michel Vorm and the whole Kop sang for him! The only thing that annoyed me more that night was Marko Grujic deciding helping Origi with cramp was a good idea when Spurs had the ball!
Maybe it’s just because people don’t like the Sturridge song but I think there’s more to it.
Even around me in the ground or talking to other fans, you get the sense that people kind of don’t like him.

“He’s lazy” and “He mopes too much” are two of the comments you hear.
Nobody would have said that a few years ago but post injuries, he is a different player. It’s obvious that he’s lost a yard of pace and that’s why he might not actually fit into a Klopp team anymore but I don’t doubt his commitment whatsoever.
When he’s on the bench, I want him to look annoyed. No player should be happy being a sub. You should want the team to do well, but you should want to be on the pitch. What’s wrong with that!?
I get the feeling that Sturridge might end up leaving in the future and I’d understand it too. If he doesn’t do what Klopp wants in a forward, then it’d make sense to let him go, but I don’t hold that against him.
Daniel Sturridge is a great striker. I just think it’s a shame that he doesn’t get the love that other less talented players do.
